Springdale
Springdale (population ~600) is the village at the west entrance of Zion National Park — a single main street of restaurants, gear shops, hotels, and galleries running directly to the park gate. Everything in Springdale is oriented around the park. The climbing approach for Moonlight Buttress and all other Zion Canyon routes starts from the park shuttle system inside the gate. There is no driving inside the canyon from spring through fall — the shuttle is mandatory and it works well. Springdale has surprisingly good food and lodging for a town of 600.
